Auto Stocker
Parts feeding to the robot is an important element of automatic production systems. If orientation and position of the workpiece is not accurate, automatic systems will not run efficiently. Sensitive or odd-shaped parts are frequently not suitable for bowl feeders, and vision systems are sometimes not an economical solution. These kind of parts should be presented on trays which are readily available in the market, and easy to transfer and reuse.

 

Hirata’s Auto Stocker is an economical solution to your parts feeding problem. The Auto Stocker is designed as tray changing system to robotically palletize or depalletize workpieces. Its accurate positioning, fast tray change time and ample tray storage will meet your automated prodcution system requirements. Auto Stocker Scheme Typical applications include assembly operations, injection molding machine palletizing, and the loading and unloading of workpieces for machine tools.

 

If additional buffer capacity beyond handling two full and one empty stack is required, additional buffer segments are attachable. In cases where heavy stack payload precludes safe operator handling of the stacks, to the basic tray it is possible to add on a docking station for a cart that feeds the trays in and out. Functionality can be enhanced further by connecting the Auto Stocker to an AGV.   

Other options are available to link Auto Stockers with conveyor between tray feeders to allow for operation without an operator. Both tray feeders are are served by a SCARA robot which empties and fills the trays.  

Special types of the Autostocker complete our product range. E.g. the "Trolleystocker"  picks the upper tray of a pile by motor driven linear axes of a XZ-handling device and can move the tray to any position within its working area. A second YZ-system can pick or place the work piece from the tray. If the tray is finished the handling device place the tray on the top of a second pile. The trays are feed in and out through trolleys or cart. The trolleystocker will be used in case of large trays and work piece.
